...2 of 2 of the Sad Day pics...I've gone and made myself depressed...
"What's important is taking the time to mourn your friend." Mr. Johnson, my 2nd Period teacher...one of the wiser people I'll ever have the pleasure of knowing...
I'll never forget that week. It felt like a dream, a bad dream, when it passed by. Sure, my school had lost students before. Spring Break was a time my teachers dreaded (last year) ...we even lost a junior this year, to a 'family' dispute, and this was a guy that everyone genuinely liked, if you knew him.
But, no one ever suspected that we'd lose someone like Sophia. She was sure to go places, ya know?
When we graduated, I'll never forget when they called out her name, and her mother came out in her stead and the cheer that the students gave in her honor...I'll never forget passing her chair, decorated in her cap and gown, NHS stole, and Sunflowers...her favorite and the very same kind that decorated the stage, instead of the white rose of our class...
When I took this picture that Monday before that long week really started, I took it in the vain hope that the patterns would distract me from the grief. It was a pretty day. The sun was out and shining, a nice breeze was blowing through...it wasn't a day that reflected the mood. I knew there'd be more to come. I knew that the week wouldn't be easy. I knew conversations would be awkward and subdued. I knew posters would be put up with her picture, I knew I'd go the rosary and church service. I knew that at one point I'd call home to get picked up, because I wouldn't be able to take the constant reminder that Sophia was gone (she was everywhere...drama, nhs, basketball...)
Yeah...I think I'm done with the depressing stuff...>.< I'm sure that she, cheerful, happy and bright person that she was, wouldn't have wanted all that, but it was something that had to be said. Before someone says 'That's what journals are for!' I tried a journal. It was a long journal...and then the internet decided to not cooperate and closed the window...I was just a little bit ticked by that time...and never rewrote the thing...hence this splurge on the comments...
:takes deep breath: I hope my younger brother doesn't go through something like that. I pray he doesn't because no one should have to....

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

The photonotes.org Dictionary of Film and Digital Photography is one place to stop and get it all answered. This is quite a valuable resource that explains in depth what a photography term means, and will help those understand who might not know what something is.
